Elon Musk has announced his plans to create a new AI chatbot named “ TruthGPT ”, which he claims will be a “maximum truth-seeking AI”. In an interview with Fox News host Tucker Carlson, Musk criticized OpenAI , the non-profit AI research company he helped to found, for training its AI chatbot “to lie” and becoming a “for-profit” organization that is closely allied with Microsoft. He believes that TruthGPT will be the best path to safety since it is unlikely to annihilate humans. Musk has previously warned of the dangers of AI and joined a group of AI experts in calling for a pause in the development of such systems due to their potential risks to society. Musk’s new start-up X.AI , which he incorporated in Nevada last month, could be linked to the creation of TruthGPT .
